He may have a knack for winning Super Bowls, but football is not the only passion of New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin. While Coughlin was still coaching college ball, one of his players—Jay McGillis, cornerback for the Boston College Eagles—was diagnosed with leukemia. For eight months, Coughlin witnessed the immense physical, emotional and financial strains the illness brought to the McGillis family. The coach vowed that if given the chance, he would find a way to help families battling childhood cancer.
